So. It has been a while but I decided to continue with this blog.
Well, the thing is, I decided to follow what the bishop told us one day. Yes I am LDS but who cares when no one really reads this blog right? Haha
He was talking about time management and told us about a guy who decided to work on something everyday for three months. Think about 12 things he would accomplish 3 years later.
It sounded amazing to me. I needed to do this.
So here I am. What I chose to do is to work on playing piano. I love playing piano. I love what piano does to me and how it helps me calm down. I always wanted to improve my skills. I have never taken any piano lessons actually but I know how to play electone which is two leveled keyboards with foot keys...kind of like organ. I guess they call it an electone organ.
With electone, we turn up the volume by turning a little nob or pushing the board with right foot. How hard we hit the key doesn't change the volume but adds the sounds of finger padding the key so it actually makes it more distracting.
Piano is a different story. I need to pound on it to make it sound louder or play it soft to make it sound more quiet. Piano is more alive. Piano will convey my emotions more, my sadness and joy. I love how my inside seem to merge to the sounds sometimes. Such a stress alleviater.
One more thing I have a hard time with is suspension, the foot pedal. I can't quite tell when to release or push on it to make it sound nice so many times I end up sounding awkward! Oh well. I just need to practice, right?
Anyway. I am taking on this project and will work on it for three months.
I am keeping track of it here so I feel more motivated to keep at it.
Today is about Day 3?
I feel a little frustrated. I played O Holy Night. It is going better than I thought but I have to keep stopping to make sure I am playing the right note. Left hand is the one I am terrible at.
I am sure I can master this arrangement before three months is up so I picked up another music. The arrangement for "I Need Thee Every Hour". This was more frustrating. I had to stop more because
I am not sure of the notes!! I guess I will pick up flash cards and work on the notes so I will know
what they are before I play again.
I am not sure if anyone will read this or not but if someone is, and if you are,
I hope you will join me and work on something for three months:)
